What should you buy as a gift from Hungary? First of all, buy a pack of the ground paprika and a bottle of Tokaj wine. These can be found in all souvenir shops, at airports and boutiques in large hotels. We further recommend the Szamos Marzipan, Pick Salami, Vanillia Circle (vaniliás karika) and the various fruit palinkas.You can get quality products at unreasonable prices near the tourist areas, so it is worth to visit the town of Szentendre near Budapest, or one of the larger markets to do the shopping. The stores at the airports or the hotels are, as always, the most expensive.
