Few places in Budapest have public toilets in acceptable quality. If you need to answer nature's call, we recommend the well-known fast food chains and the shopping plazas. In restaurants and café's, usually some consumption is required in return, but if we beg wholeheartedly, anything is possible.
Another possibility is the medium and large hotels with restaurants, which usually have a toilet close to the reception area. Always ask the receptionist for permission.
The worst quality public toilets are to be found in the underpasses. Never use these, as they are usually very dirty. Also, there is always a fee as opposed to the other possibilities.
