With its 56 hotels - 23 in Hungary and 12 in Budapest - Danubius Hotels Group is one of Europe's most significant hotel chains. Hilton Budapest is the hotel group's only 5-star hotel in the capital, located in the Castle District and featuring an unrivaled view of the city. Danubius - which is mainly known for its spa and wellness hotels - operates four 4-star spa hotels in Budapest. Danubius Hotel Gellért is without a doubt the most famous: photos of its unique thermal baths have circulated around the world. Margaret Island's Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget is connected via an underground hallway to the more than 100-year-old Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget, allowing for easy access to the hotel's health and wellness facilities. Completely revamped just 5 years ago, Grand Hotel features the city's most exclusive and modern health and fitness facilities. Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia is just across the Danube on the Pest side of the city, quite close to the city center. Originally built by a Finnish company, the hotel is quite popular among business travelers and tourists due to its wide array of services. Radisson SAS Béke Hotel Budapest - opened in 1913 as "Britannia" - is also part of the Danubius chain. It is a particularly popular 4-star hotel due to its central location and historic nature. The newly renovated Hotel Astoria is also quite popular for similar reasons. The two-and-a-half-year-old restoration project has recaptured the original 1914 splendor of Mirror Café & Restaurant. The restaurant now features a trendy menu and design. Best Western Hotel Hungaria - Hungary's largest hotel with 500 rooms - is located right next to Keleti Pályaudvar (Keleti Train Station). The chain owns two other hotels on the Buda side. Danubius Hotel Flamenco, by Feneketlen tó (Bottomless Lake), attracts guests with several conference rooms, a great location, fitness facilities, and, last but not least, a famous kitchen. The other is Hotel Budapest, also known as "körszálló" (or "circular-hotel") for its cylindrical shape. Its top floors boast a magnificent view of the city. Danubius owns two other 3-star hotels in the capital. Hotel Erzsébet is quite popular with tourists due to its proximity to the famous Váci street. Hotel Stadion is right next to Papp László Budapest Sportarena and has been completely renovated in the past 3 years. | ||||||||||
