The Parliament of Hungary is located in one of the nicest areas of Budapest, on the Pest side, along the Danube. Almost all tourists who visit Budapest visit the Parliament, but many wish to stay in a hotel nearby as well due to its central location and charming surrounding area.One of the hotels nearest to the Parliament is Hotel Parliament. This is a 4 star hotel with 65 rooms and several section rooms, in minimal style. The building has kept its original appearance on the outside as it was converted into a hotel from a residence. A 4-5 minute walk away from the Parliament, just one block from the main city ring, you'll find NH Hotel Budapest. Along the city ring, but 500 meters towards the Western Railway Station, you'll find the 3 star City Hotel Ring. There is a vegetarian Japanese restaurant and tea house operating right below the hotel in the basement area. North of the Parliament, about 800 meters from it, you'll find the anchored Boat Hotel Fortuna. Rooms are named after well-known ship captains and pirates. There is a nice open-terrace restaurant on the ship during the summer months, with splendid view of Margareth Island and the Buda Hills.
Although on the other side of the Danube, you are also able to stay at hotels from where you'll have a nice panorama of the Parliament from your room. Such a hotel is the newly (2007) opened Hotel Novotel Budapest Danube. Located along the Danube, at the foot of the Castle District, this is the only Novotel in Budapest to fully abide to the new Novotel provisions. The hotel has 3 section rooms, which are connecting and air-conditioned, and have a total capacity of 150 persons. Also at the foot of the Castle District, you'll find art'otel, which is the first lifestyle hotel of the region. The walls are decorated by the paintings of Donald Sultan.
